The Women of Unity group was birthed as the result of several women expressing a desire to build a deeper sense of community among women of the congregation. In 2007 with the blessing of Rev Pat and the Board, Gloria Smith convened the Women of Unity group and remains the facilitator. All women attending Unity Christ Church are welcomed as a part of the group. It meets the first Saturday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m. To have a safe place to share our journeys, both spiritual and secular, has proven to be an added blessing to women who gather each month.

This incredible group of approximately 15-22 women comes with open hearts and non-judgmental minds, ready to share their wisdom, and to do sacred listening and open to growth and learning. The “magic” that happens as our women join in with one another, spirit-bound, is palatable. Confidentiality with no gossip is our agreement.

We begin our time together with prayer, followed by a brief check-in by each woman. We do not offer advice or judgments with check-in but hold the positive energy as we sacredly listen and witness. This is followed by a brief introduction of the topic for the day, small groups, summary, any business, announcements and closing prayer. A few examples of topics discussed are God’s unconditional love, tools for change, forgiveness prosperity, mental and spiritual aspects of change, the power of words, how to stay present, setting personal boundaries, service, and women’s wellness.

This year the Women’s Group will celebrate its first Annual Retreat at The Forest at Marine on the St. Croix, October 1-2, with Rev Shirley Engelmeier as Keynote with the theme of: The Strength of Sharing and Mentoring the Female Passage Through Life. At the present time we are registering our wait-list.
