Love Offering Counters Ministry

Team Leader: Connie Eckert
Connie Eckert
Connie is well known to many people at Unity Christ Church in her staff role as Office Administrator. She exemplifies the meaning of service to all who know her! In addition to her staff duties, she volunteers as team leader for the ministry of Love Offering Counters. It was in the fall of 2007 when she first became part of the team. One of the counters couldn’t make it in and she was asked to help. She says, “It was a natural fit since I had done it at my previous church.” When asked what she likes about serving on this ministry, she explains that it is “behind the scenes” and not part of a group. She doesn’t like groups, so this is a great way for her to be of service and do something she likes, one on one, rather than in a group. Connie became the team leader in the summer of 2009 and continues to lead a great group of people serving this ministry.

About this Ministry

There are 15 love offering counters and 9 substitutes. The requirements are that you like to count money and are able to run a calculator. Two counters are on the schedule for each service, both the 9:00 and 11:00. Counters leave right after the offering, collect all the money from the ushers, and then immediately count the contributions in the Prayer Chaplain Office.

Training is simple. The first time you volunteer, the other counter will show you everything you need to know.

Benefits of Serving as a Love Offering Counter:

  • You get to know people one-on-one.
  • It doesn’t take a lot of time. Usually about 30 minutes, one Sunday per month.
  • It’s fun to count money.
  • It’s an opportunity to build prosperity consciousness for the church and yourself.
