Team Leaders

John Southam
John has attended Unity Christ Church since 2002 and became a member in 2008. In the last 15 years he had volunteered most of his time at his kids’ schools and received a great deal of satisfaction doing so. Now that his kids are grown, he has turned his energy to Unity Christ Church’s Hospitality Ministry.“As hospitality ministry leader, I am so blessed to be along side such a great group of people. It’s a fun place to be on a Sunday morning! I am loving every moment!”The definition of “hos-pi-tal-ity” is the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers. As Hospitality team leader, John’s goal it just that. At this point in his life, he couldn’t be in a better place.

Debra Harper
Debra has attended Unity Christ Church for the last four years. She first attended Unity after driving on Golden Valley Road and seeing the banners with the different religious symbols hanging in the entry. She was interested to see what it was all about.  She stopped and picked up a visitor’s packet. She and her husband attended their first service shortly thereafter.Debra wanted to be a part of the Hospitality Ministry because she wanted to be a part of the connections and friendships with people attending Unity. She wanted to be connected to the Unity energy. “It looked like everyone in friendship hall was having a good time and I wanted to be a part of that.”Debra’s favorite part of the Hospitality Ministry is getting to chat with all the nice people that come down for treats and the amazing people who help serve on the Hospitality team. Her vision for the ministry is to continue attracting reliable, enthusiastic people to either bring treats or help serve. Maybe at some point add some background music.
