According to Carl Jung, the spiral is the most widely recognized and repeated archetype used to symbolize our inner and outer journey to God and the Self. Spirals symbolically represent a passage into the collective unconscious and then back into the world renewed with a greater psychological understanding of who we are and why we are here.
Spiral Dynamics is a psychological/spiritual model that uses the spiral as a framework for understanding the evolution of our individual consciousness as well as the collective consciousness of humanity as reflected in its history. It also provides a way to look at the Bible and our changing perception of the Divine based on the time of the writings and the consciousness of the writers.
Rev. Niles will also be presenting the Sunday lesson “The Hidden Face of God” a message about our changing perceptions of the divine.
