Disturbing dream

Hi I hope you can help me out I had a dream last night that Michael the arch angel wanted to use my body I don’t know exactly why but he wanted to use me as a vessel but needed permission from me and I said no at first and hid from him when I had decided to agree to it he was angry with me as I asked the 100ft blue glowing form of him for forgiveness and I would agree to let him in he said no its to late that I am of evil now and left me I heard of people having dreams of Michael and meanings of that he or jesus is sending a message to them  I was wondering if u can help me translate this dream it kinda worries me

Thank you for your question.
This is very interesting on many levels and to some degree the meaning may depend upon an individuals theology.
I can give you some ideas and then would suggest you take this to prayer and ask what might this dream be trying to reveal to you. I have a theological orientation that God is always guiding us to our higher good and greater awareness of the Gods presence. We, humanity is inherently good, and God is only trying to guide us and encourage us to express more of our true nature which is good.
Dreams come from our subconscious mind. Often dream of Jesus or Michael are attempts for the subconscious mind to express more love and acceptance. There is a difference between what we believe to be true about ourselves and the world and what is actually true. A dream of Michael may be an attempt to get you to move into a deeper acceptance of love and acceptance in your life. Notice you initially said no. We have patterns and conditioning we live out of and it is possible that Michael was asking you to move beyond the patterns and conditions of life into a new understanding and awareness. When does your fear of the unknown stop you from saying yes to what intuitively you know is right? The failure of Michael to forgive you, may be, an unwillingness on your part to forgive yourself for failing to live up to some expectation.
This dream has meant a lot to you so in a time of prayer and contemplation invite Michael in consciously and ask him what he wants and how can you serve. I believe in a forgiving God. Remember Jesus said to forgive 7×70. Seek clarity and say yes when it comes.

How does fate fit with God’s will in a person’s life?

Thank you for your question. This is a difficult questions on many levels. On the one hand believing God has a plan and purpose pre-ordained for our lives can offer a degree of comfort during times of stress and trauma. Believing God is good and there is a plan allows us to step back from the pain and allow for a deeper perspective. On the other hand, this can lead to fatalism or I am not responsible for what is happening to me. Eric Butterworth writes in Discover the Power Within You that God does no more for you then through you.Unity teaches we are co-creating with God the reality of our lives. My personal belief is God/Spirit has an overall plan for each life and that is to live a life of joy and peace with an ever deeper awareness of God’s presence in our lives. Everything else are details that we as humans work out on an individually.

Prayer and meditation are one powerful and key strategy to learn to align with the inner pull of Spirit. Trail and error is probably one of the most utilized strategies, not always pleasant but if one is awake to the movement in the moment it can be very effective. A third is to practice the presence. TO train yourself to be mindful of each moment and become aware of your thoughts and experiences. Think of God as being part of a feedback loop where each moment God is calling you to your highest good and by our choices we participate in the feedback loop of life on how effectively we are aligning with God call. A third is listen to others and be aware of what experiences you are creating in your life. Mostly though I would say is to live a life of intention and be aware and awake in each moment to what is happening in you and around you.

I hoped this has helped. It is an important question and one to be contemplated often. Blessing on your journey

Thank you

I came across Unity by accident. Have only attended 2 services. I am amazed the inner peace and Love I feel while there and when leaving. Two days after the first service my brother in law was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. I sent an email to the bran New Unity preacher there asking if someone close to God could be ask to pray for Dan. I was blown away not only did she do that she sent me a long email back that was amazingly written – it brought reassurance, compassion, love kindness it felt like she really truly cared. The next Sunday I attended again, that very night at work ( I am a home care nurse) the baby of the father came into the room naked from the waste down with bad intentions I came real close to being raped! I made mention of it on my face book page ( keeping in mind I had sent the new unity preacher an invite and she accepted) the next morning I wake up to a large post by her concerning not being afraid of Evil with a prayer…not sure if it was meant for me or posted in response to the Boston bombing- regardless- what she posted brought me so much comfort and reassurance I printed it out taped it to a large index card to take to work with me. I was raised in the Christian Church, my brother in law is a preacher 2 cousins a preacher an uncle a preacher, my x-husband a preacher! In all those years of Christian churches often pastored by family members, I have never in my life felt such compassion and reassurance and love in someones writings as that new Unity preacher. I am dumbfounded. I hope a lot of that rubs off on me. The services are so peaceful just atmosphere of peace and harmony. Will admit the services are different. I was raised by hearing how you don’t measure up your a sinner going to hell you never do enough give enough always fall short then after being told that for an hour that ask you to give them money when they take the offering! Coming from a family of preachers, I to have given messages from the pulpit in Christian churches even as a teenager! After reading what the Unity preacher of Livonia Michigan wrote to me in response to Dan having cancer, and her post after the incident happened to me at work…I am ashamed I ever opened my mouth claiming to know anything about God! If that much Love and compassion can flow effortlessly in that womens words and be conveyed my gosh the gold mind that must be in her heart/soul!

What are baptisms/christenings/child dedications like in Unity and at Unity Christ Church? Is it a ceremony or ritual, and if so, what does it look and sound like/the words used?

Thank you for your question. In one sense baptism/Christening is both a ceremony and a ritual. It is a ceremony in which the family and friends gather to celebrate the child. As a ritual it is a sacred event in the life of the family in the religious community. But I don’t think this gets to the heart of the question.
According to Charles Fillmore in the Revealing Word in Unity a baptism/christening is a spiritual cleansing of the mind. Unity does not believe that a child is born in sin and somehow the baptism washes away the sins inherent in the child. Our belief, from my point of view, is we are born whole and perfect children of God. For Unity then a Baptism would represent a cleansing of the mind from negative thoughts and beliefs. This would be more representative of an adult baptism.
For a baby or a child the christening is a symbolic act of welcoming and naming a child into a community. Instead of water, unless requested by a family, we typically use rose petals to represent purity. The ritual is a dedication and a commitment of the family and all those gathered to claim collective responsibility for the raising of the child. It is a symbolic act of naming and claiming the child as a beloved child of God.

What do Lucifer, Satan, & the devil mean according to Unity?

The devil according to Charles Fillmore is the the mass of collective thoughts that have been built up in our race consciousness through many generations of of our earthly experiences and crystallized into what what may be termed the carnal mind which opposes and rejects God. It is a state of mind and consciousness adverse to our Divine Good.

It is the tempter to think there is a path or way of thinking opposed to God which can bring humanity its good.

Satan is the adversary the great universal negative derived from the misuse of humanity’s true being as the sons and daughters of God. It is the misuse of the law in opposition to the Divine Law.

From my perspective these are the universal symbols of opposition. Humanity always has a choice, to follow Spirit or to follow ego without the spiritual guidance from the Divine presence within. Satan or the devil is the overriding thought that we are somehow separate from our brothers and sisters and ultimately God. It is the belief in separation acted out in our words and actions.

New Year Letter from Rev. Pat

God’s Day

Dear Friends on the Journey,

Happy New Year!  We will hopefully hear these words several times, or words similar to them; and we know that they are offered with true, sincere, and good thoughts.  Of course, we read the predictions from all of the experts of “what will happen in 2013,” or at least their best educated guess based on history and experiences.   This too is a good thing.  For we know that by looking backwards to experience and results, we can at least have a somewhat better understanding of the future.  For it seems that history repeats itself.  All of this is good and yet, as Truth students, we know that regardless of the “good wishes” and regardless of “whatever kind of predictions” that are presented, we are the ones that must begin the changes in our lives and in the world. Co-Creators with Spirit

Hello,
My name is Alyssa. My boyfriend and I attended your candlelight service on Christmas Eve. We are currently looking for a church in our area that fits our beliefs. We really enjoyed the service we attended but have questions about your principles. Specifically number three that states “we are co creators with God” and we would appreciate more clarification on your principles and help us interpret it. [Read more...]

Gratitude Question

Good Morning Rev. Sher: I so enjoyed your talk last Sunday on Gratitude and have a question concerning the quote about being thankful in/for all things/everything. If, what I focus on/am thankful for “increases”, wouldn’t being thankful for a state of illness also “increase/grow?” Am I making myself clear?
Thank you for any clarity in this issue.
Barbara

Don’t Fertilize the Weeds

It is easy to react or over-react when we have experiences in life that seemingly cause us trauma or strife;to give all your attention to the problem. Dear ones that is like giving fertilizer to the weeds in your garden. I believe you are already familiar with the problem and dwelling on the situation or facts of the case does little to alleviate the concerns or the problem. In fact quite the opposite. We know and teach that what we focus on strengthens and increases in consciousness. Instead turn away and pull a weed and plant a flower in consciousness. Begin to notice where you are putting your energy and what you are creating in your life. Is it joy and peace or trouble and sorrow? I say give peace a chance.

Does the church truly view people equally

If God wishes for us to treat all others equally (“Love thy neighbor”), why is homosexuality still seen as an issue by Christian leaders? Understandably, it is not personal prejudice but a learned faith-based response that is behind such opinions. However, even today we see widespread persecution of homosexuals in other countries and the Church does not speak out. Furthermore, in the recent public debate on gay marriage, why is the Church so unwilling to evolve its understanding and stance on treating gay and non-gay people the same?

Is Unity Bible based

it sound like the beliefs of Unity Church are not based on the Bible

Unity’s Creed?

I have been looking through your site and I have not been able to find Unit’s creed. What specifically is Unity’s creed?
