Born in Syracuse, New York, H. Emilie Cady (1848-1941) left a career as a schoolteacher to become a physician and a doctor of homeopathic medicine. Originally associated with the New Thought movement of the early 20th century, her medical and spiritual teachings remain fundamental to Unity. Along with articles for Unity Magazine, her other works include How I Used Truth and God, a Present Help.
